We make elegant, artisan crackers that are great on their own but also pair well with artisan cheeses, pates and spreads.

Potter’s Crackers are made from locally milled whole-wheat flour, sweet Wisconsin butter and farmstead milk from just up the road. We mix in a wide range of seasonal produce, seeds and nuts, mostly from small, local farmers, to make our many crackers flavors. All this, plus the fact that our crackers are baked and sold fresh, ensures you get an unrivaled cracker experience.

Our Story

Potter's Crackers were born because we thought that great cheese deserved a great cracker! We mix, roll, cut and bake our artisan crackers fresh for you in Madison, Wisconsin with local, organic ingredients.

Potter’s Crackers was started by Nancy Potter and her son Peter in 2006 with the mission of creating sustainable, high-quality crackers for the great people of Wisconsin. Since then, the business has grown quite a bit and you can get our crackers beyond the state line, but we remain a Wisconsin business and maintain a firm allegiance to local farmers, mills and dairies.

Nancy and Peter have both loved Wisconsin’s many artisan cheeses for years, but had trouble finding a good cracker to pair with them. So, they joined Nancy’s 25+ years of experience owning the New Glarus Bakery with Peter’s Food Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison to make their own!

The result is a delicious artisan cracker, with a wide range of flavors, that can be paired with the countless varieties of artisan cheeses from Wisconsin and beyond.
